The 39 Steps, written by John Buchan and originally filmed by Alfred Hitchcock in 1935. This stage version continues at the Criterion Theatre in the West End. The thriller has been brilliantly adapted for the stage by Patrick Barlow and is hilarious throughout.

The show has a really fast pace and two of the the actors play over a hundred characters between them. This makes for lots of quick changes and costumes.

During the UK tour, I was responsible for the mechanics of the quick changes during the performances and maintenance of all the costumes and wigs.

I had an assistant to help with the get in at each venue and one of the stage managers dressed with me during the show. The show was at a different venue each week and usually had eight performances per week.
